Bilaspur District Announces Local Holidays for 2026
The Bilaspur district administration has officially declared a local holiday on September 2, 2026, in observance of the Hal Shashthi festival. District Collector and District Magistrate Sanjay Agarwal issued the formal order confirming three designated local holidays for the calendar year 2026 to ensure public participation in key regional festivities.

According to the official notification, the following dates have been sanctioned as local holidays across government offices in Bilaspur:
- September 2, 2026: Hal Shashthi
- October 19, 2026: Maha Ashtami
- November 11, 2026: Diwali Bhai Dooj
Status of Banking and Treasury Operations
While government offices will remain closed on these dates, the administration has clarified that the local holiday order does not apply to banks and the district treasury. Operations in both these sectors will continue as per their regular schedules, ensuring that essential financial services remain uninterrupted for the public.
