Rail Traffic Disrupted: South East Central Railway Announces Cancellations and Diversions Due to Infrastructure Upgrades
Train services under the South East Central Railway (SECR) Bilaspur zone face significant disruptions this October due to essential third-line connectivity work at Bina station. The West Central Railway is currently conducting pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking operations within the Bhopal division, necessitating the cancellation, diversion, and short-termination of several key express trains.
Cancellations of Humsafar Express
Passengers planning travel on the Humsafar Express route should note the following service cancellations:
- October 14: Train No. 22169 Rani Kamlapati-Santragachi Humsafar Express is cancelled.
- October 15: Train No. 22170 Santragachi-Rani Kamlapati Humsafar Express is cancelled.
Route Diversions and Short-Terminations
To accommodate the ongoing construction, railway authorities have rerouted long-distance services and curtailed the journeys of specific trains:
- Shalimar-Bhuj Express (22830/22829): The train departing from Shalimar on October 10 will be diverted via Bina Malkhedi-Mahadevkhedi-Guna-Ruthiai-Maksi. The return journey from Bhuj on October 13 will follow the same diverted route to reach Shalimar.
- Bilaspur-Bhopal Express (18236/18235): Between October 6 and 14, the Bilaspur-Bhopal Express will be short-terminated at Bina Malkhedi Junction. Consequently, the return service from Bhopal will originate from Bina Malkhedi Junction between October 7 and 15, rather than its usual starting point.
