**Political Tensions Flare in Shivpuri: Janpad President Alleges Snub at Scindia Event**
**SHIVPURI:** A high-profile infrastructure event in Badarwas, Shivpuri, has sparked a fresh political controversy after the local Janpad President, Meera Bai Parihar, accused regional leadership of stifling her voice during a public function attended by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The incident occurred Monday evening during the *bhoomi pujan* (groundbreaking ceremony) for the Bijrauni bypass and the Daulatpur-Khaikheda road project. Tensions boiled over when Parihar, the Janpad President, was denied the opportunity to address the gathering from the stage.
**Allegations of Political Obstruction**
Following the event, Parihar leveled sharp criticism against Kolaras MLA Mahendra Yadav, alleging that he deliberately prevented her from speaking. Parihar claimed that as she prepared to address the assembly, her microphone was removed, effectively silencing her.
“I wanted to speak directly to the Minister (Scindia) about the development hurdles we have been facing for the past year,” Parihar told reporters. She further alleged that administrative officials and intermediaries are intentionally stalling development projects in the Janpad, claiming that even basic online data entries for projects are being blocked.
Parihar asserted that she has traveled to Delhi four times to seek intervention regarding these issues but has yet to see results. “If I cannot secure work for my constituency, how can I fulfill the demands of the Sarpanchs?” she asked, warning that she would escalate the matter to higher authorities if the grievances remain unaddressed.
**MLA’s Defense**
Responding to the allegations on Wednesday, MLA Mahendra Yadav dismissed claims of intentional suppression. He explained that the event schedule was tightly managed to accommodate the flagging off of the Ujjaini Express at Kolaras railway station.
“Due to time constraints, only the Mandal President, the MLA, and the MP were scheduled to speak,” Yadav stated. He claimed he had suggested that Parihar submit her concerns in writing so that he could ensure they reached Minister Scindia directly. “Had she insisted on speaking from the podium in front of the Minister and the public, she would have certainly been given the opportunity,” he added.
Yadav emphasized that Parihar is a respected senior leader within the party and suggested that she could still meet with Scindia, who remains in Shivpuri, to resolve the misunderstanding.
**Infrastructure Boost for Kolaras**
Despite the political friction, the event marked a significant development for regional connectivity. Through the intervention of Union Minister and Guna-Shivpuri MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Ministry of Railways has approved a regular stoppage for the Ujjaini Express (14309/14310) at the Kolaras railway station.
This follows Scindia’s formal request to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Additionally, the Ministry has approved a stop for the Sogaria-Danapur Express (19801/19802) at the Ashoknagar railway station, a move welcomed by local residents as a major boost to regional transit.
As the fallout from the event continues, political observers in Shivpuri are watching closely to see if the local leadership rift will impact upcoming developmental initiatives in the district.
