**Jhabua Administration Launches Major Anti-Encroachment Drive to Ease Traffic Congestion**
**JHABUA:** In a decisive move to streamline urban traffic and enhance road safety, the Jhabua district administration launched a comprehensive anti-encroachment drive on Wednesday, clearing long-standing obstructions from the city’s primary thoroughfares.
Led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mahesh Mandloi, a joint task force comprising municipal officials and local police executed the operation along the critical stretch from Vijay Stambh to Chhatri Chowk.
For years, this busy corridor had been plagued by illegal vendors, makeshift kiosks, and unauthorized semi-permanent structures that severely narrowed the road. The accumulation of these encroachments had turned the route into a persistent bottleneck, resulting in daily traffic gridlocks that hampered emergency services and posed significant risks to pedestrians and schoolchildren.
During the operation, authorities utilized heavy machinery, including JCBs and cranes, to dismantle the illegal structures and clear the sidewalks. The transformation was immediate, with the road appearing significantly wider and more accessible, much to the relief of local residents and commuters.
“This drive was essential to restore order to one of our busiest junctions,” said SDM Mandloi. “Our priority is to ensure that public spaces remain accessible and safe for everyone, rather than being occupied by unauthorized structures.”
The administration has issued a stern warning to those who previously occupied the space, signaling a zero-tolerance policy for future encroachment. Officials confirmed that the municipal corporation and police department will maintain strict surveillance to prevent the return of illegal vendors. Any individuals found attempting to re-occupy the cleared areas will face stringent legal action and immediate confiscation of their property.
Local commuters and traders have largely lauded the initiative, noting that the removal of these obstacles has significantly reduced travel time and improved the overall aesthetic and safety of the city center.
