Bhind Crime: Grocery trader abducted by miscreants, rescued by police after an hour

**BHIND, Madhya Pradesh** – A brazen daylight abduction of a local grocery merchant from the busy Sadar Bazaar area on Tuesday evening has been thwarted by police, who rescued the victim shortly after he was forcibly taken by four men in a black Scorpio.

The incident, which occurred around 7:15 p.m., was captured on CCTV, showing two men entering the shop and physically dragging 42-year-old Nitesh Jain, son of Padamchand Jain, into the waiting vehicle.

### A Swift Police Response
Following the abduction, law enforcement agencies, including the City Kotwali and Dehat police, launched an immediate search operation. Acting on intelligence, the Ater police intercepted the vehicle and successfully rescued Mr. Jain from the custody of his four captors.

CSP Niranjan Rajput confirmed the rescue, stating that while the victim is now safe, the investigation into the identities of the four suspects is ongoing. “We are currently questioning the victim to ascertain the exact circumstances of the abduction and the roles played by each of the accused,” Rajput said.

### Financial Dispute at the Core
Preliminary investigations suggest the kidnapping was not a random act but stemmed from a long-standing financial dispute. Sources familiar with the investigation indicate that the conflict involves a sum between ₹1.5 crore and ₹2 crore.

There are unconfirmed reports that the perpetrators had previously demanded as much as ₹4 crore from the trader’s family. Police are now working to verify the nature of these financial dealings and determine whether the extortion attempts were the primary motive for the abduction.

### Ongoing Investigation
Authorities are meticulously analyzing the CCTV footage and the vehicle registration details to piece together the events leading up to the incident.

“We are in the process of identifying the suspects and verifying the sequence of events,” CSP Rajput added. “Once the interrogations and the filing of the formal FIR are complete, we will be able to share further details regarding the motive and the culpability of those involved.”

As of Wednesday, police remain on high alert in the area, and further legal action is pending the outcome of the ongoing interrogations.
