# Mandsaur Police Bust Drug Trafficking Ring; Two Brothers Arrested with Contraband Worth ₹21 Lakh
**MANDSAUR:** Local law enforcement in Mandsaur dealt a significant blow to narcotics trafficking on Tuesday, arresting two brothers caught transporting a substantial haul of MD drugs and *doda chura* (poppy straw).
The arrests were made by the Nai Abadi police following a targeted operation on the Mandsaur-Sitamau road. Acting on a credible tip-off received on September 1, a police team led by Station House Officer (SHO) Kuldeep Singh Rathore established a blockade near the Labhmani Eye Hospital.
### The Operation
As the suspects approached the checkpoint on a black TVS Apache motorcycle, officers intercepted them. Upon searching a bag carried by the riders, police discovered 190 grams of MD drugs and 3.6 kilograms of *doda chura*.
The suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Nazish and his 28-year-old brother, Shahrukh, both residents of Nayapura, Mandsaur.
### Seized Assets
The total value of the confiscated items is estimated at approximately ₹21.47 lakh. The seizure includes:
* **MD Drugs:** 190 grams (valued at ₹19 lakh)
* **Poppy Straw (*Doda Chura*):** 3.6 kilograms (valued at ₹7,000)
* **Electronics:** Two iPhones and one Samsung mobile (valued at ₹1.70 lakh)
* **Vehicle:** TVS Apache motorcycle (valued at ₹70,000)
### Investigation Reveals Wider Network
During preliminary interrogation, the brothers confessed that they had procured the contraband from one Ayyub Pathan, a resident of Hatuniya in the Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan.
SHO Kuldeep Singh Rathore confirmed that Ayyub Pathan has been named as a wanted suspect, and police teams are currently conducting raids to track him down.
“The accused turned to drug trafficking to fund their lavish lifestyles,” SHO Rathore stated. Notably, one of the suspects, Shahrukh, was employed with Airtel at the time of his arrest.
The Nai Abadi police have registered a case against the brothers under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, specifically sections 8/15, 22, and 29 (Crime No. 150/26). Further investigation is underway as police work to dismantle the supply chain extending into Rajasthan.
